Just like the title says it. We should bring back what Stallica did for a while. It gives people news on things they missed ect. Also for people who were away. I'm offering to help with this.

I'll help with this also, could bring some interest and activity here. However, unless this site is more active, this won't be much to report on.

i've wanted/tried to do this in the past, the main issue with this is that the current admins don't have the time or don't want to make weekly announcements, and only admins can post in the announcement section, if they change it so that members can post, and we get one person to make the weekly announcements(others can help by PMing the one person news that they see), we can easily bring it back, we just either need Drew or ZDingen to make the weekly announcement, or have them change it so anyone can post in announcements

Yeah. They don't need to post the news. I can do it, but I need them to do that.

What news is there to post...? The only things that go on are people changing groups and new topics. What needs to be announced?

it doesn't need to be purely forum things, yes that would be part of it, but we could make it world news or pokemon news or other things like that(and a tournament going on if you didn't notice)

Well, this could happen if we included gaming/Pokemon related news, but if we only were to post forum related things, I dont think there would be much to report on.

I think some people could write it and send it to either Drew or me so that we can see it and then post it. I dont think all members should write announcement due to the meaning of this was for the admins to announce things the staff has announced and such.

Not all members, just like 2 or 3 who write this.

Why start announcements, when we have General Discussion?
Thats the place where people can talk about other news.
Pokemon news can go in Pokemon Discussion.

Who says it's all forum news? It can also be moving of tiers, news about HG & SS, other pokemon related things. This won't be just out side forum things either. It's forum AND other things. Slow, nobody said anything of a new forum or sub forum, just you.

Actually Alex. I never said we needed a new forum. I said, why not PUT these things you call announcements into sub forums, within forums that already exist.

Pokemon related things go into Pokemon Discussion. That's why we have it.
I brought up forums/sub forums because we can simply put it sub topics within the forums.

Pokemon Discussion can have a sticky about Pokemon News, etc.. or something like that.

It's not all going to be pokemon stuff. It'll be forum things too. And why should we make like 3 posts for different news? Why not one for all kinds of news?

I agree with Slow. If stuff like tier updates didn't go in Pokemon Discussion what would? I believe the announcements section was designed for forum news. If you ask me, it just makes more sense to put Pogey stuff in the Pogey Section and Forum stuff in the Announcements and Rules Category/Section.

I decided to actually take a look at the old weekly announcements before thinking anymore on it. It seems the crap posted with or without anything big happening. He posted we need 3 more gym leaders, his tournament, ect. He also mentioned holidays such as Mother's Day. I think we could atleast try monthly announcements for people who might have missed something in the post or if the staff wants to say something. I'm doing announcements close to as weekly as I can for the Prof. Group, it would be helpful if I could just PM somethings to Drew. That way we could have site announcements by Drew, E4 ones by ZDingen, Gym ones by NB, and Prof. ones by me like on the third of every month or something. I think weekly is too often, but monthly would be benificial.
