 Pokemon Black and White : Miracle shooter

Maybe youve heard, or maybe you haven't, but there is a new thing called Miracle shooter in pokmon Black and White. Basically, you earn points during the battle and if you have enough points you can use items.

IMO, i think this will ruin the game. I mean, what if you're 1v1 on a blissey, and somehow youve managed to get it down to 10HP. However, you are hanging on a focus sash and you die from the last hit, or you have very low hp. Since youre faster, you'd usually hit first and win. But what if blissey used a full restore?


I hope theres an option where you can turn it off.

And im not sure if this is 100% accurate, but i'm pretty sure its going to be in the games.

If it is, what's your opinion on this miracle shooter?

i don't think it should be allowed on wifi. i think it will be an absolute fail, from my understanding you get points when you predict what move they are going to use. now there is no way they are going to have every single move the poke can learn to choose from so im guessing it will have the opponents move set listed that you pick from that will cause some pokes to be useless. for example taunt can basically be taken out of the game. that and rapid spin i know if thats how the new battling system is going to be i will have a ghost type on every team.

Hopefully there is some option where you can turn it off if they ever put it on wifi. Just like you can turn voice chat off

Yeah, that sounds absolutely horrible! I won't WiFi battle if that is in.

I like it. The main issue with pokemon is without Ubers changes, there is no change to the meta game until a new game comes out. This will be a neat change to the meta game if you'd like. I've been thinking that they need a way to use items in the meta game some how.
EXAMPLE: I was discussing with my brother that simply adding items to the meta game would change how so many pokemon are used. One pokemon who I brought up was Heracross. The HUGE thing Heracross lacks is speed. Generally people try to cope with this by giving him a Choice Scarf. Now if you allowed items you could get a boost to you're speed similar to Agility. Another pokemon who I could see going to OU or Ubers is Slaking. If they keep his ability as is, he will be the best late game sweeper. You can attack with his massive attack, use the points you built up during the battle to use an item to increase Speed, Attack, Defense, HP, Move PP, or whatever else you would like on his "Truant Turn", then finally attack on the third turn. If you run a test in a wild battle you will see items can be used on the "Truant Turn" which would help out Slaking massively. This feature would also help teams who only have 1 pokemon who can take out one of your opponent's pokemon. Lets say from what I saw on your team my Scarf Rotom is useless to me and I need a death fodder. You have a Gyarados I have yet to see...so I sacrifice my Rotom thinking it is the weakest thing for me. After that I see your Gyarados come out, look at my team, and say GG. With this feature I can save up some points, see your Gyarados, Revive my Rotom, get back into the game, and kick your ass.
No matter how bad things get...items can always, ALWAYS save your ass. They are a key component into the regular game play. Even if you think their gay and refuse to use them, the Gym Leaders will, E4 will, Champ does. You need to be aware of items in the standard game play of pokemon...why not in the competitive component of it?
I personally would have limited the actual items used in the bag...but the point system seems better when I think of it. You'll be getting rewarded on how well you play, so if you play well you'll have more options. If you play poor you'll have less options.
That's my quick rant defending the new feature of Gen 5. At least give it a chance before you hate it. People now-a-days can't accept change in their games...but then complain the game gets boring and never changes. Here is a HUGE change in the meta game. Now you want the same old boring shit? I say NO! Change up my meta game! The one thing that they will need to ensure they do is make sure that stalling doesn't give off more points than a Max Potion calls for. There are a few things like that they need to look at...but overall I like the sound of the idea.
Give it a fighting chance before you hate on it.

Well i agree with you to some extent. Likewise, i'm really excited to see how the teirs are going to change. With the new addition of gen 5 pokemon, smogon babies are going to to complain more than ever. There will probably be pokemon that outclass pokemon we know now, causing them to go uber, or pushing these pokemon down. The change of abilities will also affect the tiers a lot. Same with moves. Hopefully the installment of the 5th gen will change up the metagame a lot, i'm getting sick of this one..

I understand where youre coming from with the moves. It can be seen different ways. Items CAN be used strategically. Like xattack,speed..etc can power up pokes who lack boosting moves. maybe causing shifts in the tiers. I also LIKE the point system, necause of it rewarding you based on how you play.

All in all, i like the item thing..but i think there should be an option to turn it off. So you can play with it sometimes, but not always.
