| Hello all, In the recent event of Garchomp now being moved to the Uber list and no longer legal to have in a team, this hinders people who wish to create a mono-type Dragon team, as there are now only 5, fully evolved, legal Dragons to choose from, to include- Dragonite-------Altaria--------Salamence------Kingdra------Flygon Therefore, I make an announcement that I, Prof. Oak (=P), hereby declare that I will allow a Dragonish substitute in any mono-type Dragon team. By this, I mean that there are certain Pokemon out there that have Dragon type features, and even learn Dragon type moves. So I will allows these Pokes to be in your Dragon team- Charizard---------Gyarados Long have these Pokemon been considerd to be part of a Dragon type team, simply because of their apperence as well as both are able to learn Dragon type moves, specifically Dragon Dance. A general rule of thumb was to allow any Pokemon that can even learn Dragon Dance, either through natural leveling or egg moves, to be in a Dragon type team. So this is even to include, to a lesser extent- Tyranitar----------Feraligatr Next comes the type disadvantages. I know most of you are thinking "But what about their weakness to Ice and Dragon!? No fair! I can't defeat them now!" Well, are you really going to come to a battle with nothing but Ice type pokemon JUST to defeat an entire team of Dragons? No, it rarely works that way. Also I doubt one would have a mixed team consisting of nothing but Ice type attacks. You do have variety in your pokemon and moves. I'm sure you will have at least one move that is super effective against one of the new substitutes. Basically I'm saying deal with it, in a blunt way =P *This change is for this website only, so battling with these substitutes outside of Chimchar Forums is at your own risk. I, however, approve of these substitutes whether in or outside the fourms, so if you come to me with a ruleing on a battle with a dragon sub, I will rule in favor of the dragon team. **Please vote at the top, as I do need your opinions on whether this should take effect or not. ***This does not mean that you can have all the subs in your party and then 2 Dragon types. You can only substitute for the uber Garchomp. You must have all 5 original Dragons on your team and then pick one sub for last slot.

| I second this movement. For too long have we struggled to battle with 6 dragons. And to find out that one is an uber!?!?! well this is a great idea! I vote in favor of this! | |

| Oak i hate to dissagree with you but i do every type has a dissadvantage, some bigger than others there is no rule the gym LEADERS can't use two of one pokemon also, all the not fully evolved pokemon can be used there are plenty of options to cover their obsticals personally, i think give dragons some 'special additions' show that dragons can not hold their own in battle, witch is not true it is an extra level of difficulty with out Garchomp, but they still have options and also, as of 5:58, October 2, 2008(eastern time), Garchomp is NOT and uber on this forum

| Sorry Oak but I also have to disagree. A substitute for a Dragon pokemon would be well... unpokemonical.... which is Not Pokemon Ethical =P It just doesn't seem right. Although I do agree that Gyarados should be made a Dragon just not from this event. I've thought from day one it should be water and dragon but that is beside the point. Thank you for hearing me out! | |

Monkey 1. •Species Clause: You may not have more than one of the same exact Pokémon on your team. You say there is no rule that gym leaders cant use two of the same pokes, however there is also no rule that says they can. These rules are enforced for BOTH opponents, not just the one challenging the gym leader. Are we to assume that these rules will be easily tossed aside at the gym leaders convienence? I suppose a gym leader can put all pokemon asleep since these rules do not affect them. 2. Ineed you can use NFE pokemon on your team, but is that really wise? They are not at their full potential. They are not strong enough, tough enough, fast enough nor can they learn moves they normaly would be able to learn at their last stage of evolution. Good luck trying to win a battle with Dratini. 3. These are not "special additions", merly substitutes who have dragon-like characteristics as well as learning dragon-type moves. Dragons can hold their own in a mono type team, but would you seroiusly just want to use 5 pokes instead of 6? Your opponent is already one ahead of you if that is the case. I suppose if it's really that bad, a dragon gym or trainer can imply that only 5 pokes be used against him to make up for the 6th slot loss. - Prof. Lenny wrote:

It is not unethical, like I said before, it is merly a substitute to make up for the open 6th slot. Its not like I'm saying you can add an Electivire or Snorlax to you last slot. These are legitimate Dragon-like pokemon. An ability to learn Dragon Dance which should only BE reserved for those with said Dragon-like characteristics. Charizard and Gyarados are not weak to Ice or Dragon, but they are weak to Rock-type moves because of their flying type, just as Salamence and Dragonite because of the same secondary type. Are you people really that scared of one extra poke that is not weak to your futile Ice attacks, so much so that you have to deam this a bad idea? Its not like this will be in effect forever. One day, I'm sure Garchomp will be taken off the uber list, or a new pokemon game will come out introducing a new Dragon. Until that time, one substitute for your dragon team so you can have a full party of 6 is not going to make you the most unbeatable trainer in the world. I'm sorry to sound this way, but it really pissed me off how closed-minded most of you can be when it comes to issues like this. I really see it as a fear that you won't be able to defeat a team and will naturally call out unfairness. I think it's unfair that Garchomp was put in the uber list, but what are you gonna do? Well, we can use a sub. Either way, a vote will determine the outcome and if the most votes go against, then I will accept. ...well, a vote or shot down by admins. ~Prof. Oak's next argument: "I firmly believe that Drapion should be added to the Bug's list and I will also see to it to lower trainer taxes!!" | |

| Oak, if you recall there was a rule with no more than 1 of each type of pokemon in gym battles, yet gym leaders had 6 of one type, SOME of the rules had an exception, and NFE pokemon can be beast if they are used correctly, study up on them, then discuss it with me Oak, i think making exceptions for 1 type shows a feeling of weakness in the type
