Garchomp Poll

Just like Dingen, I propose a poll for Garchomp. If he is uber or OU on this site. I'm not going to give any reasons why or why not, seeing as he was in OU for over a year, we should all be familiar with Garchomp. My poll might not have any official say in the site's decision but at least our opinions get out.

When sand veil is in play (increases the evasion of Garchomp by 20% in a sandstorm), every move has only an 80% chance of connecting which makes any potential counter even less reliable.

You know. A lot of pokemon are capable of pulling off good things.
Garchomp is one. But there are just as many ways to beat is as there are to get beaten by it.
like maple said, its been that way for a year now.

Arent we just being little pussies and not sucking up the fact that the game isnt meant to be all easy? I mean, in math. You dont just vote that everything is canceled so you only have to do addition. you suck it up, and live with it. i think that its just an excuse because people find that its too hard to beat, so you highlight all its good points to make it seem like godzilla.

Lol, it really dosnt matter to me. But i think that people should just stop being afaraid of a garchomp, because the truth is, its not that good at all.

If you actually take teh time and think it through, its easy to beat one.

And i dont want to hear this crap about people saying "oh well no prof slow freak, its actually really good and he has great stats and omg and blah and wtf and i always loose to one and it should be uber cause i want it to"
i mean seriously
i dont care what you have to say about my post, cause i dont really care.

I just think that pokemon was meant to BATTLE WITH
not single ones out because people are too lazy to counter them.

i have a team of pokemon all of the dragons garchomp is 5/6 in my team strategy he goes down to people just the same as kingdra or salamence i was wiped out by a kingler that ohkoe'd my whole team so next to be added to the uber list are :

Pokemon numbers: 1-143 are all ubers the only exceptions are pikachu oddish bidoof zubat geodude and our old friend magikarp!

the poofters at who decide what pokemon are ubers are so damn useless and unstrategic that they cant take down a simple oddish! while i do hav respect for some of them the rest are retards!

Garchop lovers, let's look at Garchomp real quick:
1) Ability-Sand Veil, increases Accuracy in sandstorm, so have Hippo or T-Tar before him and he's harder to hit(kind of like Double Team witch is banned)

2) Typeage-Ground/Dragon, X4 Ice, X2 Dragon, X.5 Rock/Poison/Fire, X0 Electric, so only two super effective hits(typeage makes him seem BL-OU)

3) Stats-100+=Attack(130), HP(108), Speed(102), 90-100=Def.(95), 80-90=Spec. Def.(85), Spec. Att.(80), seems atleast OU by this, possible uber

4) Moves-Egg Wise, the moves range from power of 15-120, and types of Ground, Steel, Dragon, and Normal, TM wise, add in Fighting, Poion, Rock, Dark, Ghost, and Flying, Lv. up wise, he has a fire attack(ONLY PHYSICAL ATTACKS, so with Special/Status Moves he could be uber), Plat. even adds a Water Physical Attack 0.0

5) Items-Yacha Berry counters his only X4 weakness, Scarf increases his high speed to massive speed, Life Orb and CB make is killer Attack uber, Salac Berry with the right moves make is speed massive with multi-moves to use, Brighter Power+Ability is nearly impossible to hit while you weaken in a sandstorm, so many options item wise, who know's what the heck kind you'll be facing(all with different stratiges to beat), i say that's pretty uber

6) His Final Pluse-Garchop's main defeat is by getting a X4 Ice Beam in, this would require his ability to fail you, no Yacha Berry, no Brighter Power, low HP&Spec. Def.(90% of the time this applies), and no Scarf to out speed you
IF all of the above occor(99% of the time one factor will apply), then you must survive on a switch out, lose a pokemon and switch to a counter(if you lose a pokemon to switch, Garchomp gave his team the advantage by 1 pokemon)
IF Garchop is set up properly(with Hippo/T-Tar before to set off Garchop's Ability) then Garchomp probably won't switch into his weakness, allowing him to beat 1+ opponents, so this is some arguments for uber

there is my six point plan on uberizing Garchomp, if this somehow doesn't inspire people that Garchomp is uber, i'd consiter him uber and still not train/use one

Garchomp is SO broken!!!

1) Garchomp have no counter. Period.

2) Garchomp with Yache Berry-Swords Dance is even more broken and can
sweep a team all by himself.

3) All Garchomp's stats are GOOD! Garchomp could be a wall, a tank, a physical sweeper
and a special Sweeper....And yes they CAN be special sweepers.

4) Garchomp has a base speed of 102. That means that just a handful of Pokemon outspeeds him.

Even if there is not going to be Dragon monotype teams after Smogon made 'Chomp uber,
i dont care. He is SO broken! Why do you think everyone nagged about how broken he is.
There are just some fandboys/fangirls who is not noticing the problem.

I don't mean to spam, especially if I don't have an opinion. Just like with Deoxys-S, I can't vote on this...so many reasons why Garchomp should be uber, but...I like him, so I wish he was OU. Hmm...

We shouldn't go by what Smogon says, its not really "official". Although I can never find Nintendo's official uber/ban list.

The only place I can find something remotly close to it is when you visit the Battle Tower in d/p.
If you try to do a battle while having an illegal pokemon on your team, the receptionist will give you a list of baned pokemon-

Eggs, Mewtwo, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Manaphy and Darkrai.

Of course, I ONLY have these ubers in my game, so maybe she only mentioned those. If I had others (Oh-Ho, Lugia, Rayquaza, etc.) she might have mentioned those as well.

I do have a Garchomp, and she did not mention it. So Nintendo does not recognize Garchomp as an uber, however Deoxys is (even though mine is in its speed forme).

Bottom line, we "shouldn't" go by what other sites say, only official Nintendo ban lists....if I can find a reliable one.

i dissagree with this list, allows Wobbafett(too good to be OU), and bans Celebi, Jarachi, and Shaymin(not good enough to be uber)

But that aint a counter for Garchomp.
A counter can easly switch in, take any of Garchomp's hits and kille him.
A banded Garchomp or a Garchomp with a Swords Dance up is definately
a threat to any Pokemon.

Well we can't make disissions like that, it really has to be the fourm as a whole that decides these things, with approval from admins. Other forums choose not to ban Garchomp and/or Deoxys-S, and even though Smogon is not official on pokemon bans, everyone seems to follow them.

Alot of higher ups here though, don't like Garchomp as well, so we may not see Garchomp in the OU for quite some time.

Dragon Gyms will be put on hold obviously, maybe you can raise a really good Dragonair or something =P

i had a garchomp but i put it away after he was uber, so i switch it to a Salamence
