Ranks ??????

it has come to my attention that groups other than admins/mods have ranks and i have talked to other profs/aides,gym leaders,elite 4,and we came up with the conclusion that we should have ranks this is just a friendly suggestion no arguments/fighting meant or need to happen

I agree with you guys. The professors used to have this star ranking system and stuff, but i havent seen that for a while. I think the other groups should have ranks.

@Drake-i agree, Drew seemed to beable to change the admin name color pretty quickly, so i assume it isn't too hard for him to make one for E4, Prof. Aide, and Gym Leader
@Slow-there is still a Prof. Rank out there, Lenny, Ryan, and Oak(umm...why Oak but not current Professors?) have it, lol, and Slow needs the Mod rank, lol

here is a reason why we might need another admin >.> i don't expect Drew to do every little thing for the site, and there is only so much a mod can do(admin has sooo many more powers), so maybe if we had another admin, Drew and that person could split the things that admins can do so they only need to remember 1/2 of the full duties

This is one of our biggest problems. In teh cb, people always ask me to sticky stuff, to add ranks, etc.. We need another admin who can do this while Drew isnt on? That would help a lot

I agree. I think I've told Drew or mentioned this before but we need as much respect as the staff and we are working hard on our spot.

This can certainly do this, it's just kind of a pain to keep track of--especially when we lose/gain GL's and such every other day. I'll get to work on it when i have time.

This is another reason we should have 2 admins because Drew doesn't have a lot of time on his hands for things like this so it takes a while even to do the simplest tasks because moderator's can't do this.

13 days and no add? Wtf? Busy admin? Maybe a new admin is needed.

Chill the f*** out, we've talked about new admin stuff. This hasn't been brought up again since the day it was posted, so it's kind of been forgot about.

I'm sick of reading all of this crap about needing admins and moderators. You guys really don't need it. You have a small, good active member base -- administrative responses don't need to be instantaneous. They can take as long as they want because they run the show. Because the active member number is low, it's not neeeded at all. In one time, I see MAYBE two people other than me on at a time. I'm also on late at night in Ireland, which means you kids are out of school by then. Not to mention, most of the active members have rankings (ie. gym, elite four, mod, admin) anyway.

i'm gonna challange Caitie's ideals:

we don't need anymore mods, i'll agree with you there, what we do need is another admin, they have more powers than a Mod and more responsibilities, i don't want all of the crap people will throw here(lol, crap and throw said from Monkey =P), so i saw bump a mod(either ZDingen the 'staff's mod' or Slow the 'people's mod') to admin, the new admin to mod ratio being 2:3, sounds reasonable for our size

and what does this line mean? "They can take as long as they want because they run the show." to me, sounds like your saying they can do whatever the heck they please...well the "can" but if the staff just blows off the member's voice, what is keeping them coming back? if we want to see a membership increase, then the staff needs to listen to the members request(atleast listen, give valid reasons if it sucks) and the members need to respect our staff, and thier decisions more

further more, i've seen when your on Caitie and we don't have too many members on then(after school activities, some people have bigger lives, i don't =P) come on the night USA time and there will be more members on(i'm assuming a few more members are on during Europe day/night time, ask ZDingen or NB on that one)

finally, what's wrong with most members being in a user group? if you were told you had high chances of being important, or you were told, sorry your too late, you suck, witch is more attractive? being important, i assume, so i see no problems with most members having some color here(as long as they prove they have some skills first)

I honestly don't think having a rank on a forum makes you special at all. After all, it's the internet and a small forum. If everyone has a rank, doesn't that mean that the non-ranked members are the special ones? Active ones, anyway.

The line just means that if they take more than the five minutes (or a couple days) to react to a petition made by members, they shouldn't get angry. Administrators have lives, and even with a second one they'd have to discuss and debate it with one another. A communist forum is not a happy one. :] I don't mean he shouldn't take suggestions, I mean that they should be given time.

I've been on the during the night USA time on a weekend, and it was the same thing. Perhaps I'm missing the people by a couple of minutes, but it's what I see. This can be deterring for your European members, as well. You can't expect them to be awake as late as I am (I work 12-9 some days, so I can stay up). School kids won't be able to!

it's more of an acomplishment thing than a special thing(i might still be using the wrong word, i can't think of the right one), i've heard kids saying that they wanna be something on the site(a regular member isn't enough), so it's what some members think

the whole staff discusses new ideas anywho, so if Drew ask them a point, they all agree, and the other admin can see it and work on it, so with how it sounds like our staff runs, 2 admins would be more efficient, and Drew was able to get the admin one to change in a few mins. so why should it take 13 days for another rank?

and we're not one of the most active forums, i will admit that, but i've seen like 6-8+ people on the CB some nights, others on the site, and i never said that was the only active times...ask NB or ZDingen if it's active at all European mid-day/night
