First suggestion: Like in Single Player Gyms, these Gyms should have Trainers. Makes practically everyone who wants a group to join. BUT, these trainers are allowed not to have NFE pokemon like SPGyms, and have to have at least 4-5 pokemon of their type, 1-2 counters. and you can't skip any of them. Makes more of a Changellenge. As always, no Ubers.
Second Suggestion: like in smogon forum can we have raters and tutors?

We had gym trainers before and it went pretty well but they're gone now.

What do ya mean, they're gone? They just quit???? Hmph, I would join even if I was the only one if I could. Just after I assemble my team for a Varied Gym Leader... or a Dragon or a Normal or a Bug... Rate My Team and Prof.s can replace Tutors.

They were removed because we had about 2 gym trainers and 7 GLs... unless we see more activity, there's no reason to look into this.
