Badge System

This has definitely been brought up before but I think that the badges could be done to be more efficient and aesthetically pleasing. The bar works alright, but then after winning a gym battle, you have to PM an admin or someone to get the update. It may be easier to just have the gym leaders get a set of badges and give them out after a battle for people to post in their signatures. Obviously people could try and steal them and put them in their signature, so it'd have to be a trust thing. I've seen actual badges elsewhere and they look pretty cool in people's signatures. Monkey and the admins have been handling the badge system well, and I'm not trying to call for reform, I just think it could be a bit easier on the staff and cooler looking.

I actually like this idea. I kept the badges as a bar not to change the site too much from what the first admin did. =)
I do like this idea, it just means gym leaders need to know what their badge is, who beat them, and who is "stealing" badges. To be honest, though, the bar makes it harder to tell who loses a badge when we lose a gym leader, or they get promoated. I was thinking of smaller pictures, like the ingame ones, for gym badges, and have the same PMing an admin process in the profile.
Gym Badge reform is a noval idea, however, so lets see if the other members think:
A) should we change it
B) what would you rather it be
C) if it's changable by the member, will gym leaders keep an eye on signatures?

Yeah, definitely something smaller, it was just an example.

Just make a thread, every win you get post in their confirming you won and make gym leaders have a winners list on their profiles. Constantly be checking back and forth if gym leaders quit or stuff and you can remove the badges of who beat their gym.

So explain how in the short time you've been back you were able to get 5 gym badges? Clearly they do battle. This is steering off topic a bit, you should be discussing the looks, location, and who adds of the badges.

just a thought i think having actually pics is a great idea but obviously anyone could steal them. so gl could put winners list at the bottom, and then once people actually get 8 badges if it ever happens lol we can put a thread on either the gl post or e4 saying who eligible to challenge the e4.

you could pick a badge from http://pokemon.wikia.com/wiki/Gym_Leader it has a list of all the leaders and badges from all the continents. I suppose you could also maybe design a new system instead of that bar showing how many badges you have turning it into a badge case.

Sounds like we all want the picture badges. Now do we want larger ones that go in profiles and gym leaders must check up on(like posted above). Or smaller ones that go where the badge bar is(like below)?

i say larger ones and lets make some custom badges.

what do you think of these? the first 8 are the gyms the next 5 are the e4 and champion. the badges are ground, normal, poison, grass, psychic, ice, fire, dark, water, bug, fighting, steel, and champion respectively.

i don't think they should there would be alot of adding and removing then. i believe the rules r u have to use the same team against each member right? the badge for e4 won't help then i personally think its a waste of time.
