hacked vs. legit

How do you know the difference between a hacked pokemon and a legit one?

Im sorta new to trading

A) Look at the ball it was caught in (infernape in master ball is a hack)
B) Look at the OT and Number. (OT ??? with number 00000, is a hack
C) Look at where and what level it was met. (Torterra met on route 229 at lv100 is a hack)
D) Look at the moveset. (Arcanine knowing Zap Cannon is hacked)
E) Look at the stats. (999 in each stat, 31 IV's in each stat are hacked)
F) Check IV's. (If you need more info. on IV's go to Serebii-- as stated above 31 IV's in each stat is a hack.)
G) Check the contest stats. (A pokemon who has eaten 3 berries and has a maxed stat is hacked, also milotic without max beauty is hacked).


Those are the main ones i look for, i may have forgot some but those are at least the basics. Hope i helped.

The dates: Date Met Egg Hatched
E.G. 2001 jubilife city

Pokeball: like chimchar said but also look out for event pokemon that aren't in a cherish ball and pokemon that are in a safari ball but cannot be caught in pal park E.G. palkia in a safari ball

Not necessarily, someone could have just put in the wrong date on their ds! Or maybe they didn't even bother setting up their ds' date and time!

The date isn't a really good way of knowing for sure, in fact the date shouldn't even mater. Chimchar's original post about the stats and the OT are what you really have to look out for.
