| Same post from last year: I am making a forum bet from an idea from Maple. Basically if you follow American Football, pick your favorite team, list it here. The team that has the best record at the end of the REGULAR season will get the Forum decorated for their team.(If this works out, we might do if for other sports.) To get in on the bet, post your team's name here.
Teams in the Bet: 1) Saints(11-5-0): Freak 2) Eagles(10-5-0): Monkey
3) Buccaneers(10-6-0): Wind
4) Giants(9-6-0): Nips
5) Titans(6-9-0): Maple
6) 49ers(5-10-0): Monk *16 Games are in the regular season...strike through means they can NOT win the forum bet. **Only Eagles or Saints can win it. Eagles, at best, with a win, tie Saints.
**Rules for tie breakers.** 1) IF there was a inter-bet game, reguardless of who you played, you get the lead if you win, a disadvantage if you lose. -Example: Say the Colts, Steelers, and Cardinals are all 10-3. BUT the Colts beat the Cardinals 2 weeks ago. The teams don't, and didn't, have any other games vs eachother. The Colts would be ranked ahead of the two teams while the Cardinals would be third. 2) If the teams faced no other teams on the bet OR they have equal inter-bet match up then they are placed in ABC order. 3) IF teams end the season in a tie for first place, THE WILL BOTH GET THE PRIZE! THE TIE BREAKER RULES ONLY APPLY TO HAVE A WAY TO ORDER THE TEAMS, NOT TO CHANGE THE RESULT OF THE BET!
*Chim Rival Matches* ONLY APPLY FOR RULE 1 OF THE TIE BREAKER 1) Titans: 2-0 (beat Giants than Eagles) 2) Eagles: 3-1 (beat the 49ers and the Giants(twice) but lost to the Titans) 3) Saints: 2-1 (beat 49ers and Bucs and lost to the Bucs(second match up)) 4) Bucs: 1-1 (beat 49ers and lost to Saints) 5) Giants: 0-3 (lost to the Titans and the Eagles(twice)) 5) 49ers: 0-3 (lost to the Saints, Bucs and the Eagles)

| Just as a quick reminder. Tomorrow is the Week 3 Match Ups:
The leading team(Wind's Buccaneers) will take on the undefeated Steelers. Both teams are 2-0 going into this game. This game is at 1:00 PM USA East Coast Time. This game will be at Raymond James Stadium so Wind's Buccaneers do get the home field advantage. If they can pull off the win they can ensure that they hold first place in the bet.
Also at 1:00 PM USA East Coast Time we'll have a 'Chimchar Rivalry Match' between Maple's Titans and Nips Giants. This game is at the New Medowlands Stadium so this gives Nips Giants the home field advantage. The winner of this game will get ahead of the other team and possibly tied for first if Wind's Buccaneers lose.
Finally at 4:05 PM USA East Coast Time Monkey's Eagles take on the Jaguars. Both teams are 1-1 so the Eagles need a win to not fall down to a tie for last with the loser of the Titans @ Giants game. The game is at EverBank Field so the Eagles will be on the road.
Our Teams Standings: 1) Buccaneers(2-0-0): Wind 2) Eagles(1-1-0): Monkey 2) Giants(1-1-0): Nips 2) Titans(1-1-0): Maple
Our Teams Division Standings(note if they get first place they make the playoffs and get a mention if they win or lose): Buccaneers-Tied for first with the Saints. Eagles-Tied for first with the Redskins and Giants. Giants-Tied for first with the Redskins and Eagles. Titans-Tied for second with the Colts and Jaguars. **IF THE SEASON ENDED NOW THE TITANS AND BUCCANEERS WOULD BE THE ONLY ONES IN THE PLAYOFFS(Eagles and Giants lose their tie breaker and Titans are a "Wild Card")**

| Eagles and Titans won, while the Bucs lost so they are all tied in the bet for first. The Giants lost which throws them in last place, but only 1 win behind the others.

| Just as a quick reminder. Today is the Week 4 Match Ups:
First game of the week is the Titans vs the 1-2 Broncos. The game is at 1 pm USA East Coast time at LP Stadium so the Titans get home field advantage. If the Titans can pull off the win they can keep the lead in our forum bet, at worse being tied for first.
Also at 1 USA East Coast time we have the 49ers playing against the 2-1 Falcons. The game is at Georgia Dome so the Falcons will have the home field advantage. The 49ers really could use a to try and mount a come back in the bet.
At 4:15 pm USA East Coast time we have the Eagles taking on division rival in the Washington Redskins. Donavan McNabb returns to Lincoln Financial Field to take on his former team. The Eagles will have the home field advantage and could use a win to hold onto first place both in the division and in the forum bet.
Finally at 8:20 pm USA East Coast time tonight against to undefeated Bears. The Giants really need a win to stay alive in the first half of the forum bet. The Giants do get the home field being the game is at the New Meddowlands Stadium.
The Buccaneers have the week off this week so they could lose their first place spot if the Eagles and Titans both lose.
Our Teams Standings: 1) Buccaneers(2-1-0): Wind 1) Titans(2-1-0): Maple 1) Eagles(2-1-0): Monkey 4) Giants(1-2-0): Nips 5) 49ers(0-3-0): Monk
Our Teams Division Standings(note if they get first place they make the playoffs and get a mention if they win or lose): Buccaneers-Tied for first with the Saints and Falcons.(Falcons win tie breaker) Eagles-Solo first. Giants-Tied for second with the Redskins and Cowboys. Titans-Tied for first with the Colts and Texans.(Texans win tie breaker) 49ers-Solo last. **IF THE SEASON ENDED NOW THE EAGLES, TITANS, AND BUCCANEERS WOULD BE THE ONLY ONES IN THE PLAYOFFS(Titans and Buccaneers are a "Wild Card")**

| Week 9 Match-Ups: (our teams are in bold and their color and spoilers are a match up preview)1:00 PM USA East Coast Time:Falcons(5-2-0) host Buccaneers(5-2-0) in Atlanta - Spoiler:
The Falcons rank 27th in yards per game allowed, so you can expect Josh Freeman to take many mid-range shots to Mike Williams and a few to Arrelious Benn. Freeman is an adequate bye week plugger, Williams a must-start, and Benn worth the gamble if you are desperate for help in larger leagues. The Falcons may load up against LeGarrette Blount, so do not expect a huge statistical day from him again, but he will get some TD chances as the Buccaneers move the ball effectively. Tampa Bay ranks 30th in the NFL against the run, and the defensive line will get pushed around by Atlanta's front wall. Michael Turner is one of the top fantasy starters of Week 9, and Matt Ryan will use play-action passes to his benefit. Look for Ryan to get Tony Gonzalez involved early and often. He'll want to steer clear of opportunistic CB Aqib Talib until he gets Gonzalez established.
Panthers(1-6-0) host Saints(5-3-0) in Carolina - Spoiler:
Matt Moore is prone to turnovers, and that is bad news against an aggressive Saints defense. Look for New Orleans to bring lots of pressure, and all of the Carolina WRs are risky starts, even Steve Smith, who appeared to be getting back into a groove last week. The Saints may focus heavily on containing the run to force Moore to throw, and Jonathan Stewart will be stuffed early and often. Of course, this season's Saints have shown they can lay an egg at any time, and this is a divisional game, so do not assume New Orleans will dominate, either. Chris Ivory cannot be counted on for a solid outing, and none of the Saints pass-catchers can be locked in against a pass defense that ranks fourth in yards allowed per game. Still, it is very difficult to bench Drew Brees, and even if he turns the ball over more than once, he will throw more than one TD pass. This game could turn out to be lower-scoring than expected, especially on the New Orleans side of the ball. 4:05 PM USA East Coast Time:Seahawks(4-3-0) host Giants(5-2-0) in Seattle - Spoiler:
Without Matt Hasselbeck, this game clearly turns in New York's favor from a matchup perspective, although Seattle's home field advantage can always help its defense. Eli Manning could be erratic early, but the Seahawks defense will spend too much time on the field and will eventually give way. Expect a two-TD, two interception type of performance from Manning. Steve Smith will be very productive from the PPR perspective, and Hakeem Nicks will be a solid bet to score. Ahmad Bradshaw will pad his numbers later in the game, but Brandon Jacobs may have some difficulty finding the end zone against a LB unit that plays with a lot of pride. Charlie Whitehurst is in for a long day behind a shaky offensive line that must guard against a notoriously furious pass rush. Marshawn Lynch will be stuffed consistently, and Mike Williams becomes a much less attractive option without Hasselbeck in the lineup. 4:15 PM USA East Coast Time:Eagles(4-3-0) host Colts(5-2-0) in Philly - Spoiler:
The Eagles have allowed 13 TD passes this season, and have looked vulnerable to the deep ball recently. Peyton Manning is in for a big week gunning the ball, and could fire more than two TD passes. Reggie Wayne is an obvious must-start, and Pierre Garcon will definitely challenge the Eagles secondary downfield. Jacob Tamme has the skills to be a consistent contributor and should be started if you do not have another top-level TE on your roster. The Colts RB corps is down to possibly Javarris James as a fantasy option, because Donald Brown does not yet look ready to contribute significantly. If you are desperate for RB help, roll with James. The Colts allow 133.1 rush yards per game, and LeSean McCoy is one of the very best RB starts of Week 9. Michael Vick will be well-rested and ready to produce, which makes the Philadelphia QB and top WR DeSean Jackson optimum starts. A quality ground attack will allow the Eagles to establish the desired offensive balance. *BYE*:49ers(2-6-0) and Titans(5-3-0)Monkey | |
